Misting lines, lighting and signage all have to attach to something, and in most stores that something is the ceiling — which means a contractor, a fixed position and a reset every time the department moves. This island carries its own rail on posts above the deck, so all three fix to the fixture and travel with it.
Below the rail the deck is stainless and divided into sections with a round bowl at one end, over a timber base that keeps the fixture in the same visual family as the dry builds around it. Stainless where the water is, timber where the shopper looks — which is the arrangement most produce departments end up wanting.

Sections, not one tray
The deck is divided into sections so water and trimmings stay with the line that produced them. Under a misting rail that matters more than usual, because everything on the deck is wet by definition.
For piled lines
A round bowl at one end takes the lines that sell piled. It also breaks the run of rectangles, which on a long stainless deck stops the fixture reading as a counter.
Board over steel frame
The base is timber board so the island matches the dry fixtures beside it. Stainless goes where the water is and timber goes where the shopper looks, which is the split most produce departments arrive at.

Shelving bays, produce islands and bulk cabinets travel as panels — uprights, shelves, back panels and plinths, strapped flat with bubble wrap on every component. They are built up on the shop floor, so the packing list and the assembly drawings travel with the goods.
This model
Trolleys slide into one another and baskets stack. Past the first unit, each extra one adds only its nesting pitch instead of its full length, so the shipped volume ends up a fraction of what the unit count suggests.
A checkout lane is welded, coated and fitted out as one piece, so it is crated whole with padding on the steel. Nothing waits to be assembled at the store beyond levelling it into the lane, and the crate is the counter plus a margin.
Produce islands ship flat as panels, so the container arithmetic runs on panel count rather than on finished size. Two of the builds in this category carry recorded dimensions — 1200 × 750 × 850 mm for the standard island table and 1200 × 800 × 1300 mm for the tall build — and those two are the reference points a loading plan is worked from. Everything else is cut to your aisle and confirmed on the packing list.
Produce is the wettest, heaviest and fastest turning department in the store, and it rarely arrives on its own. These three categories share the fresh aisle with it.
Where the produce run meets the fish counter, both fixtures want stainless at the contact surfaces and a drain in the same floor.

The rail and the fixing positions are built for it and the line route is drawn before production. The misting equipment itself is specified per order — tell us what you intend to use, or ask and we will advise on what the rail will carry.
Yes, and many stores use it for both. Lighting is specified per order rather than being standard, so raise it with the enquiry and the route is drawn in rather than retrofitted on site.
Because the department will move. A ceiling fixing means a contractor and a fixed position; a rail on the island means the whole assembly travels with the fixture when the layout changes, which it will.
It would be if the base were taking the water, which it is not — the stainless deck and its divisions carry it. Where a store mists heavily we specify stainless further down the fixture, and that is a per store plan decision.
