Continuous, not faceted
Each shelf is a continuous ring rather than a set of straight segments. A faceted shelf shows its joints from every angle at once, which on a fixture with no back is every angle a shopper has.

A full height circular column of shelves. It works where a rectangular fixture cannot: around a structural pillar, in the middle of open floor, or anywhere traffic arrives from more than two directions.

Most stores have at least one structural column standing in the middle of the selling floor, and most stores waste it. A circular shelving column turns that obstruction into a fixture with facings on every side. It also works free-standing in open floor, where traffic comes from four directions and a rectangular bay would have to pick two of them.
It is built full height rather than as a low tower, so it carries a real range instead of a token one. The shelves are pale timber board in a black steel frame, on the same system as the straight bays, which is what lets the column take the same colour reference and board tone as the rest of the store.

Building a shelf as a ring is harder than building it flat, and these four are where that shows.
Continuous, not faceted

Carries every ring
The frame carries every ring back into the centre. Nothing hangs off a bracket in front of the shelf, because on a round fixture a bracket is visible from all sides.
Board bent to the radius
The board edge is bent to the radius. It is the most expensive part of this fixture to make and it is the one that decides whether it reads as designed or as improvised.
Clear of the floor
The base lifts the lowest ring clear of the floor for cleaning. On a free-standing column in open floor the base is also what stops the whole fixture being nudged out of position.

This model
Trolleys slide into one another and baskets stack. Past the first unit, each extra one adds only its nesting pitch instead of its full length, so the shipped volume ends up a fraction of what the unit count suggests.
A checkout lane is welded, coated and fitted out as one piece, so it is crated whole with padding on the steel. Nothing waits to be assembled at the store beyond levelling it into the lane, and the crate is the counter plus a margin.
Shelving is the category flat packing was invented for: uprights, shelves, back panels and plinths all travel as flat strapped bundles, and a container of shelving carries several times the store area that the same container of assembled counters would. Two group sizes are on record — single-sided at L1000 × W400 × H1700 mm and double-sided at L1000 × W800 × H1500 mm — and a loading plan is worked from those.
Shelving is the backbone of the store and everything else is arranged against it. These three categories are what fill the gaps a shelving run leaves.
The islands that sit between shelving runs carry the loose lines the bays cannot, and they take the same colour reference.

If the column wraps a structural pillar, send the pillar dimensions and any services running on it. If it is free-standing, send the floor space and the walking room you want around it.

That is one of the two things it is for. Send the pillar dimensions and flag any services running on it — sprinklers, conduit, alarm points — because those decide whether the rings can close all the way round.
Diameter is set to the pillar or to the floor space rather than being a fixed size. Send whichever applies and it comes back dimensioned on the drawing.
It runs on the same steel system and the same board, but the shelves themselves are rings rather than flat panels, so they are made for the column. The finishes and the colour reference carry across.
It takes more walking, because there is no single side to work from. Stores that run one usually put a slower line on it for that reason — it earns its place by using floor that nothing else can use.
