Four Faces, Four Display Quarters, One Footprint

This is the fixture for the middle of a floor rather than the side of it. Being square and shopped from four sides, it does not have a back to waste, and the steel cross brace across the glazed top divides the display into four quarters that can each hold a different line without anything mixing. The brace is structural as well as visual — it is what stops a glazed top this wide flexing under a hand leaning on it.

Underneath, every one of the four faces is a cabinet door on a long black bar handle, in a dark timber with the grain running vertically. That gives a store an unusual amount of closed storage directly under the display it serves, which on a dry goods floor is the difference between restocking from the fixture and restocking from the back room.

What The Photographs Show

On a four sided cabinet every face is a front, so there is nowhere to hide a rough joint. The centre brace is what keeps the square true.

Long Bar Handles

One door per face

Each face carries a full length bar handle rather than a knob. On a four sided island the doors are opened from whichever side the staff member happens to be standing, so the handle has to be findable without looking.

Welded centre, four quarters

The two braces meet and are welded at the centre of the top. That single junction is what holds a square this wide from racking, and it is why the cabinet can be moved on a pallet truck without the doors going out of line.

Black powder coat over steel

The uprights and the top rail meet in a welded corner and are coated afterwards, so there is no bare edge at the joint. A bolted corner would show a fixing here and would be the first place the coating fails.

The facing board runs vertically on every panel including the doors, so the grain lines up across a closed face. It is the reason the cabinet reads as one object rather than as four doors bolted to a frame.

Nested Trolleys And Hand Baskets

Trolleys slide into one another and baskets stack. Past the first unit, each extra one adds only its nesting pitch instead of its full length, so the shipped volume ends up a fraction of what the unit count suggests.

Fully Assembled Counters

A checkout lane is welded, coated and fitted out as one piece, so it is crated whole. That is the expensive end of the freight scale, and it is the reason a counter order and a bulk order load so differently.

Because this island ships as panels rather than assembled, the container arithmetic runs on panel count instead of on finished size — which is why two islands of the same footprint can load very differently depending on how many compartments each one carries. We do not publish a units-per-container figure for that reason. It is worked out against your actual order and comes back on the packing list together with the case dimensions, once the island size is confirmed.

What Usually Travels In The Same Container

A bulk island rarely arrives on its own. These three categories share the dry goods aisle with it, and putting them on one order is what lets a single colour reference run across the whole aisle, because it is then one batch of coating rather than three.

Q01 Can the glazed top be replaced with a solid deck?

Yes. A boarded top turns the cabinet into a display platform that will take weight, which is what stores promoting cartoned goods usually want. The cross brace stays either way, because it is doing structural work rather than dividing the glass.

Q02 Do all four doors open into one space inside?

That is set per order. One open interior is simpler to load; four separate compartments are easier to keep tidy when four different lines are stocked above. Tell us which way your staff work and it is built to suit.

Q03 What footprint does the square dry goods cabinet take?

It is sized to the floor space rather than sold in a fixed module. Send the floor area and the walking room you want around it, and the footprint comes back on the drawing.

Q04 Is it heavy to move once it is built up?

It is a steel frame with board facings, so it is light for its size — that is exactly why fixtures fill a container on volume rather than weight. It ships as flat panels and is built up in position on the shop floor.
