City-centre stores and converted premises often have aisles narrow enough that two shoppers with standard roller baskets cannot pass. This build answers that by taking the capacity upward instead of outward: a taller, narrower body with useful volume in a considerably smaller floor footprint.
The trade is stability, which is honest to state. A tall narrow basket is easier to tip than a wide one, so the base is weighted in the moulding and the wheels are set at the widest point of the body to give it the maximum track available.

Mass low down
The base moulding carries more material than the walls, putting the mass as low as possible. It is what stops a tall empty basket blowing over when a door opens.
Maximum available track
The wheels sit at the widest point of a narrow body, giving the maximum track the shape allows. It is a small dimension and it is most of the tipping resistance this build has.
Low pull point
The handle attaches lower on the body than on the standard build, so the pull is applied below the centre of mass. Pull a tall basket from the top and it tips at the first corner.

Store fixtures are light for their size, so a container fills up on volume long before it fills up on weight. What decides your freight is not what one unit weighs — it is what shape the goods are in when they go through the container door. Everything we build leaves in one of three shapes.
Shelving bays, produce islands and bulk cabinets travel as panels — uprights, shelves, back panels and plinths, strapped flat with bubble wrap on every component. They are built up on the shop floor, so the packing list and the assembly drawings travel with the goods.
Trolleys slide into one another and baskets stack. Past the first unit, each extra one adds only its nesting pitch instead of its full length, so the shipped volume ends up a fraction of what the unit count suggests.
This model
A checkout lane is welded, coated and fitted out as one piece, so it is crated whole with padding on the steel. Nothing waits to be assembled at the store beyond levelling it into the lane, and the crate is the counter plus a margin.
Baskets stack, which makes them the densest thing we ship. A column of nested baskets is close to solid plastic, so the freight cost per basket is a fraction of anything else in this catalogue — which is why baskets are almost always added to a container that is going anyway rather than shipped on their own. We do not publish litre capacities for this range. The figures circulating for it came from an old third-party listing rather than from our own production records, and they are being confirmed with the factory first.
A trolley bay is part of the front of store, and what it stands next to decides how well it works.
The lane length has to leave room for a loaded trolley to turn out of it, which is a dimension worth checking before either is ordered.

It is easier to tip than a wide basket, which we would rather say than not. The base is weighted and the wheels are set at the widest point to compensate. If your aisles can take a standard basket, take the standard one.
It is set against the aisle rather than to a fixed width. Send your narrowest aisle dimension and we will come back with a width that leaves room for two shoppers to pass.
Items go in over a higher rim, which is slightly more effort. It also means the bottom of the basket is deeper down, so shoppers reach further to retrieve something at the lane.
Often, yes, and it is worth considering honestly. A hand basket takes no floor at all while being carried. The roller basket wins only where the mission is too big to carry comfortably.
